South Korean giant LG is reportedly developing its own crypto wallet, according to a patent application filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
LG filed last week an application to register the trademark ThinQ Wallet. According to the documents submitted with the application, the trademark could be used for transaction and settlement services, mobile banking, "cyber money issuance" and "software for payments with smartphones," among other things.
LG is already using the trademark ThinQ on its G7+ smartphone.
LG has been actively working on the development of blockchain-based solutions since 2017, when the company started to develop a financial platform based on R3's Corda platform.
Earlier this year it was reported that LG is collaborating with IBM and Ford to develop a system to monitor the supply chain of cobalt.
