The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has just granted ErisX, a popular Chicago-based crypto trading platform, a derivatives clearing organization (DCO) license.

This license allows the exchange to offer crypto futures contracts. ErisX has reported through a blog post it plans to launch futures contracts before the end of the year.

The exchange released its own spot market in April, in which users can currently trade bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum and litecoin with U.S. dollars.

The legal director of the platform, Laurian Cristea, has said the trading of the current assets as well as of futures contracts will be available on the same platform.

Ihodl has recently reported that Binance plans to launch its own futures platform in the coming months and that the test version of the platform will be released in just a few weeks.
