Overstock's crypto subsidiary tZERO has launched its own crypto wallet called tZERO Crypto for iOS devices. The app enables users to buy, sell, and hold digital currencies efficiently and securely, directly on their mobile phone, notes the announcement.
Initially, the app is accessible for iOS users with Android support coming soon. The announcement highlights the app is committed to compliance and safety, and it uses biometric authentication to enhance security against hacks and lost passwords.
The core of the wallet is tZERO's so-called Private Key Recovery System, which allows funds to be restored if a user loses private keys or mobile device.
Patrick M. Byrne, Overstock.com Founder and CEO claims tZERO Crypto is bringing "a superb wallet into production, one with distinct advantages over other wallets currently in use."
"One of those is that with tZERO’s Private Key Recovery System, your digital coins are truly held by you, in your wallet, rather than on an exchange in a pot with other fungible tokens," he added.
Previously tZERO filed a patent for a “crypto integration platform” for digital assets trading — a platform able to integrate conventional trading systems with crypto exchanges.
