Multi-functional UK cryptocurrency exchange established in 2013, CEX.IO, has revealed its survey, according to which 13% of surveyed UK respondents own some cryptocurrency.

As it states, bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) is the most popular asset (owned by 43%). In second place are tokens (of all types), which are held by 29% of respondents. Of those surveyed, 20% say they buy and sell different types of crypto assets depending on the price volatility, notes the survey.

In the meantime, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) reports that, according to its data, investors' interest in bitcoin futures contracts has reached an all-time high.

Security is reportedly the most important factor that influences the decision to purchase crypto, for 31% of respondents. In addition to that, over 50% of crypto owners bought their crypto at least a year ago, and 25% spent the equivalent of GBP 500 or less acquiring it.

The survey also points out crypto owners in the UK prefer to store their assets in online wallet services (31%), while only 16% use cryptocurrency exchanges.

Earlier, CEX.IO announced that on CEX.IO BROKER, over 70% of all Live accounts are trading with 10x leverage and 29% use either 2x, 3x, or 5x leverage.
