The TRON Foundation announced yesterday on a blog post it is updating Odyssey, its mainnet.

The aim of TRON's mainnet, which ranks 12th in Coinmarketcap's ranking of the largest cryptocurrencies by market cap, is to become a benchmark for the creation of entertainment-focused decentralized applications (dApps). Developers can create these dApps on both the TRON protocol and the TRON virtual machine.

The update of Odyssey, TRON's mainnet, to version 3.6, will include, among other things, a series of improvements aimed to increase the network's safety and convenience. It will also facilitate the development of dApps.

We must remember that TRON's blockchain can execute tens of thousands of transactions per second, while bitcoin's and ethereum's networks can only execute 3-6 and 25, respectively.

TRON's mainnet went live on May 30, 2018. The project started then to transfer all its tokens from ethereum's blockchain to its own mainnet.
