Facebook has just introduced Calibra, the website for its crypto project. The social network has included a short description in which states that:

"The Calibra app has been designed to work with Libra, our new cryptocurrency. The Calibra app is based on the innovative blockchain technology, which allows people to enjoy additional freedom, security and accessibility when making everyday transfers. It will be available globally."

Calibra will operate independently of Facebook, therefore, it will be released as an independent app for iOS and Android operating systems. However, it will also be integrated into Facebook, WhatsApp and Messenger.

According to the social network, the company is still working on the development of the project.

Dante Disparte, head of policy and communications at the Libra Association, said:

"The initiative aims to provide access to commercial and financial services online to over a billion people around the world who do not have access to such services."
