Last Bitcoin Futures Contract Will Disappear From CBOE on June 19

The last Bitcoin futures contract at the Chicago Stock Exchange (CBOE) will expire on June 19 at 14:45 Chicago time, Bloomberg reported yesterday.

The platform has announced this will be the last contract of this type, at least for now.

CBOE became the first regulated U.S. platform to launch Bitcoin futures back in December 2017. However, CME launched a similar product shortly afterwards.

CBOE is currently "assessing its approach with respect to how it plans to continue to offer digital asset derivatives for trading."

The news about CBOE's decision to interrupt the trading of this instrument was known back in March. Apparently, CBOE decided to do so as a result of the lack of demand due to the bearish crypto market.
