One of the BitMEX founders, Ben Delo, has joined the philanthropic campaign the Giving Pledge to safeguard future generations and protect the long-term prospects of humanity.
The Giving Pledge campaign is focused on encouraging wealthy people to contribute a majority of their wealth to philanthropic causes. As of May 2019, the pledge has 191 signatories, either individuals or couples, from 22 countries. The Giving Pledge was founded by Warren Buffett and Bill Gates in June 2010.
"I’ve chosen this focus for several reasons. In short, I believe that all lives are valuable, including those of future generations. I expect that a vast and extraordinary future lies ahead if we can navigate the challenges and opportunities posed by new technologies in the upcoming century," said Delo.
BitMEX is a cryptocurrency exchange and derivative trading platform. It is owned and operated by HDR Global Trading Limited, which is registered in the Seychelles and has offices worldwide.
Last year, Coinbase CEO, Brian Armstrong joined the campaign, becoming the very first crypto billionaire who joined the charity campaign.
