Coinbase Payment Processing Service Starts to Support Circle Stablecoin

U.S.-based crypto exchange Coinbase has reported its crypto payment processor Coinbase Commerce now supports USD Coin (USDC), Circle's stable coin, the exchange announced on May 20.

According to the announcement, Coinbase Commerce users will now be able to accept payments with stablecoin USDC with no transaction fees. The announcement also highlights that this new stablecoin allows the reception of payments without any geographical limitation or the need for a bank account, which are obligatory requirements in the case of credit card payments.

The crypto exchange has also said that the listing of this new asset allows its users to carry out transactions with digital currencies without being exposed to the high volatility of standard cryptocurrencies.

  • Coinbase Commerce, which was launched in early 2018, allows its users to accept multiple cryptocurrencies and can be added as a payment method on the most popular e-commerce platforms.
