Blockstream, a major blockchain infrastructure company, has just announced it plans to launch a platform for security tokens.

According to the company's announcement, the platform, known as Liquid Securities, will allow companies to issue security tokens on the Liquid Network - an interbank settlement network that brings together crypto exchanges and institutions from around the world.

Samson Mow, the company's security director, has said that although companies are interested in launching tokenized values, blockchain networks such as the Ethereum's are not their best option because of their limitations with respect to privacy, reliability and scalability. According to him, Blockstream's new platform is much more suitable to meet the needs of these companies.

The launch of the platform will apparently take place together with 4 partners: investment platform BnkToTheFuture, multi-blockchain issuance platform TokenSoft, American bank Zenus Bank and game development studio Pixelmatic.
