Bitcoin price (EXANTE: Bitcoin) is rising today. At 10:00 CEST time, the main cryptocurrency by market capitalization is trading at $8,251.98 (+17.16%), $251 above $8,000, a mark it surpassed yesterday for the first time since July 2018.

Alex Kuptsikevich, FxPro analyst, says:

"Bitcoin continues to grow, currently at 17% above the $8,000 mark. The largest crypto reached this level yesterday, slightly frightening investors and triggering a selloff that reduced the crypto price to $7,700 for a short period of time. However, the investors started buying shortly afterwards.

As a result, Bitcoin has exceeded the $8,000 level this morning one more time, attracting the users' interest due to its spectacular rally.

Since May 10, Bitcoin price has grown by 31%, from $6,100 to $8,000. This rally might be driven by the news about the association between Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange founded by the Winklevoss brothers, and payment startup Flexa: it will allow users to use Bitcoin as well as other cryptocurrencies to pay at Whole Foods, a network owned by Amazon."
