Changpeng Zhao, Binance's CEO, has just announced the crypto trading platform plans to resume deposits and withdrawals services tomorrow.

He said:

"Our team is making progress and has been working through the weekend. In the past few days, we have made some significant overhauls to our system, with a large number of advanced security features added and/or completely re-architected. We will share details on some of the changes later."

He said the exchange intends to allow its users to deposit and withdraw funds starting tomorrow. In order to reactivate the service, it will be necessary to temporarily interrupt the trading operations.

The platform users cannot deposit or withdraw funds, a suspension that came into force shortly after the exchange lost 7,000 Bitcoins (worth $40M in that moment) as a result of a hacker attack that took place last week.

According to the official statement shared by Binance's CEO, a hacker or group of hackers accessed a large number of user API keys, 2FA codes and potentially other information. The hackers used a wide range of techniques, including phishing, viruses and other attacks in order to gain access to the users' funds.

However, one user of the platform has said on social networks that he has been able to deposit funds in the exchange.
