The second-largest stock exchange in the world by market cap, Nasdaq, has announced it will send real-time ripple (XRP) index level information on the Nasdaq Global Index Data ServiceSM (GIDS).

According to the official statement, the XRP Liquid Index (XRPLX) is designed to provide a real-time spot or reference rate for the price of 1 XRP, quoted in USD, and based on the most liquid ends of their markets.

"The index is calculated using a methodology that has been independently audited against key IOSCO principles. The XRPLX is the latest addition to Brave New Coin’s suite of Liquid Indices Program, which also includes the Bitcoin Liquid Index (BLX) and the Ethereum Liquid Index (ELX)," described in Nasdaq's official statement.

Earlier, Nasdaq shared a relevant piece of news in an online statement according to which, the exchange will start offering real-time data on two crypto market-related indices — the Bitcoin Liquid Index (BLX) and the Ethereum Liquid Index (ELX).
