France is trying to persuade other member states to adopt a crypto regulation similar to the one it approved last week, Reuters reported yesterday.

French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has said that France wants to persuade other EU countries to adopt a crypto regulation similar to the one approved by the French parliament last week.

The French parliament passed last week a national regulation for digital assets with the aim of attracting issuers and traders to the country by providing them with a legal basis. In addition, the country wants to profit from the corresponding taxes that shall be paid by these companies.

According to the regulations, all token issuers will have to apply for a special certification that will allow the authorities to know who is responsible for a particular token or trading platform.

Le Maire has said the following: "we propose to my European partners that we set up a single regulatory framework on crypto-assets inspired by the French experience. Our model is the right one."
