Digital Asset, the blockchain startup that developed the open source programming language for smart contracts DAML, has just announced it has partnered with cloud computing giant VMware, Digital Asset announced yesterday through a press release.
As part of the collaboration, Digital Asset will integrate its Digital Asset Modelling Language (DAML) into VMware's blockchain platform. According to the statement, "the combination of an enterprise-level blockchain platform with a language for smart contracts will allow for broader reach and support as a combined offering. DAML has proven to be one of the few languages for smart contracts capable of modeling truly complex workflows at scale.
VMware was founded back in 1998, and last year its revenue reached about $9 billion. The company is best known for its computer software for virtual machines.
VMware plans to distribute the DAML language with its VMware Blockchain platform directly to its existing customer base as well as through its partners.
