The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) has joined the pool of stock exchanges that allow traditional investors to trade digital assets. According to the announcement, the JSE has announced the execution of a historic Master Agreement with Blockstation, a Canada-based fintech company.

As it states, Blockstation provides end-to-end digital asset trading platforms for the stock exchange network, offering compliant listing, trading, clearing and settlement of digital assets and security tokens to the entire ecosystem of broker-dealers, investors, depositories and regulators.

Managing Director of the JSE, Marlene Street Forrest, says Blockstation has been a good partner over the past year, working closely with the exchange and its stakeholders to ensure that their platform satisfies every requirement.

"This is an unprecedented opportunity for the JSE to diversify its product offerings and attract new listings and inbound investments," Forrest added.

Last year, the JSE signed a memorandum of understanding with Blockstation to start trading of cryptocurrencies.
