Bitrefill, a provider of digital gift cards has just added to its list of services the possibility of making reservations on Airbnb with digital currencies, the company announced on March 27 through its official Twitter account.
From now on, the users of the service will be able to pay for their reservations on Airbnb with a wide range of cryptos, namely Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, Litecoin and Dogecoin.
The system works as follows: users purchase a gift card with cryptocurrencies and receive a code they can use on Airbnb to make reservations. This means that the hosting platform does not work directly with cryptos.
At the moment the service can only be used for stays of less than 28 nights and is only available to U.S. users. It is not known whether the service will be extended to other countries.
Users can buy $25, $50 and $100 cards.
Bitrefill already offers the possibility of purchasing gift cards with cryptocurrencies for other services such as Netflix, Hulu, eBay and Amazon, among others.
