The U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has just announced two new measures aimed at improving the security of its platform.

Nicholas Percoco, the company's chief executive officer, announced last Tuesday that the exchange has just integrated mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA) and established a security laboratory.

The possibility of enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) has been available on the platform since 2013. However, the next time users log on to the platform, they will be required to activate the feature in order to be able to access the exchange. This feature is compatible with Google Authenticator and YubiKey so far.

The platform has also announced the establishment of the Kraken Security Labs, a laboratory whose aim is to improve the security of the whole crypto ecosystem through the analysis of third party tools, such as software and hardware wallets.
