The developer of the peer-to-peer platform BitTorrent plans to release its live video streaming service BitTorrent Live in the second quarter of the year, the company announced yesterday on its blog.

BitTorrent Live will allow users to broadcast live content from their devices and chat with their viewers.

BitTorrent Live also plans to integrate the blockchain technology in order to increase its privacy and to enable payments with its BTT token.

Apparently, users will only need an Internet connection as well as a device to stream video from anywhere. In addition, viewers will be able to give their opinion about what they are watching. It must be noted that the app also allows users to search for content on a particular topic.

The "BitTorrent Live" project is not new. The company revealed a similar project back in 2013, however, it was cancelled since it did not manage to attract enough money to fund its development.

We must not forget that there are already several similar services available, such as Snapchat and TikTok. However, with its new app, BitTorrent promises to offer a higher level of privacy as well as several tools to monetize content creation.
