U.S. postal carrier UPS and e-commerce tech company Inxeption have just launched a blockchain platform that allows merchants to improve their supply chains, the companies announced yesterday in a press release.

The platform, known as Inxeption Zippy, allows merchants to include, market and distribute their products among customers.

One of the main advantages of Inxeption Zippy is that it allows merchants to track information related to products, since they are added to the platform till they are delivered to the final recipient. In addition, DLT technology ensures that confidential data, such as prices, is only accessible by the buyer and seller.

This new blockchain platform will allow merchants to carry out a wide variety of tasks, such as adding products, scheduling orders, tracking possible returns, etc.

UPS made an investment in Inxeption Zippy in mid-January.

The shipping giant UPS filed a new patent in August that described a blockchain that is part of a distributed system for shipping packages around the world.
