The Japanese company SBI Holdings has just established the division SBI Mining Chip Co. (SBIMC), which will make crypto mining chips, the firm has announced.

The creation of this new division is part of SBI Holdings' digital asset strategy. The division will be in charge of developing and manufacturing mining chips together with a U.S. semiconductor maker whose name has not been disclosed.

The division will be headed by Adam Traidman, former CEO of Chip Estimate and WearSens.

SBI Group, through its SBI Crypto division, started mining Bitcoin Cash last year. However, the company ceased this operation.

The company shared its plants to invest in crypto for the first time in 2017 and in June last year it established the regulated cryptocurrency exchange VCTRADE.
