Crypto wallet Abra has just added native support for Ethereum, the company announced yesterday in its blog.
Starting yesterday, users will be able to receive, store, sell and buy Ethereum directly from the wallet. In addition, they will also be able to use the token to invest in the other cryptocurrencies and fiat coins available on the platform.
So far, Abra only gave support to Ethereum as a "synthetic asset", a system that allowed investors to expose themselves to the altcoin without actually owning it. Abra's CEO, Bill Barhydt, has said that adding native support for Ethereum is the first step towards full compatibility with stablecoins based on the ERC-20 standard.
He added that although the wallet is becoming more popular as an investment platform, the company still has to work hard if it wants to become an option as a payments and remittance platform.
