SIX, the largest stock exchange in Switzerland, has just announced it may list an exchange-traded product (ETP) based on XRP, the company shared in an interview with CoinDesk.
According to Hany Rashwan, co-founder and CEO of the Swiss-based company Amun AG, his firm has already received green light from SIX to launch this new ETP linked to the XRP token. It will be added under the ticker AXRP. He said:
“We can comfortably say that we expect to release the world’s first XRP ETP within the next two months.”
The SIX platform added its first ETP for retail and institutional investors in November 2018 under ticker name “HODL”. It tracks the prices of the largest crypto assets.
Amun AG has also been authorized to issue 4 more ETPs linked to Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Stellar Lumens and EOS. Even though it is not yet clear when these new ETPs will be launched, it might happen by the end of this year.
Why it is important
- SIX has recently announced it has decided to use Corda Enterprise technology, owned by the blockchain consortium R3, to develop its own trading, settlement and custody service for digital assets.
