According to a survey carried out by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) - the British financial regulator, 73% of the British consumers have no idea about what a cryptocurrency is or simply cannot give a clear definition.
The study, which has polled 2,132 British consumers in Association with the London-based market research company Kantar TNS to understand how they interact with crypto assets, has found out that men aged between 20 and 44 are more familiar with crypto.
The research has also revealed that just 3% of the participants in the study have ever bought cryptocurrencies. More particularly, 1.5% of those spent under £200 ($263).
As for the most popular crypto, Bitcoin stands out with over 50% purchasing the leading crypto by market cap, being Ethereum the second most popular token with 34 percent of buyers.
