The number of venues accepting Bitcoin around the world grew more than 700 percent within five years, according to CoinMap, a crypto acceptance monitoring resource. This fact was recently shared by Ryan Radloff, CoinShares CEO, on Twitter:

The maps, provided by CoinMap, show the difference between the number of Bitcoin-friendly venues in the end of 2013 and in the end of 2018: 1,789 and 14,113 respectively.
Many of the areas showing greater acceptance of the largest cryptocurrency remain the same: central Europe, United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and United States — and the northern part of South America experienced a significant rise.
Simultaneously, many areas of the world show little or none Bitcoin acceptance — particularly those that would benefit most from it. We are talking about a big part of Africa, the Middle East or Asia — where most of the unbanked are.
And although encouraging, CoinMap’s figures are not a synonym of Bitcoin’s adoption: Bitcoin acceptance does not give indication of Bitcoin usage.
