Crypto-focused payment gateway CoinGate has announced the adding of another cryptocurrency, ripple (XRP), enabling various businesses to accept it as a payment option, according to the official announcement.
CoinGate is a payment gateway that was founded in 2014 and gives a tool to buy/sell crypto using bank transfer, credit and debit cards, and mobile balance (phone credit).
"With us launching the XRP support, we open up opportunities for XRP to reach far outside its own ecosystem into bigger markets. At the same time, it allows the community to utilize the token in more ways than ever before," the official announcement states.
Last year, CoinGate teamed up with open-source, e-commerce platform PrestaShop, based in Paris, France to enable at least 80,000 EU-based online merchants to start accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment method.
