The broadly popular free encyclopedia Wikipedia may now be supported with Bitcoin Cash donations — through the well-known crypto payment provider BitPay.
“Our donors have shown an increased interest for different cryptocurrencies, so accepting Bitcoin Cash was a natural next step,” — Shared Pats Pena, director of payments and operations at Wikimedia Foundation.
The Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit behind Wikipedia and similar projects, established a partnership with BitPay in order to be able to accept these donations.
The organization has been accepting Bitcoin since 2014, through Coinbase, but from recently on it counts with BitPay to accept both crypto options, Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.
