The first week of 2019 ended with the smallest weekly total collected by Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) since 2017, according to data shared recently by Icobench only around $6 million were raised between January 1-6, regardless the substantial number of ongoing ICOs (424 ongoing, of which 47 started this week).

The second week (Jan 7-13) of the year experienced a different situation: the weekly total raised by ICOs hiked considerably — thanks to a particular ICO: the Chelle Coin ICO raised $80.2 million alone. Nonetheless, excluding this ICO, the combined total collected by ICOs during this week was around $3 million.

In short, during the first two weeks of this year ICOs raised around $90 million. In comparison, on the last two weeks of 2018 about $323 were raised.

In the meanwhile, experts inquired by Icobench shared their belief that the ICO market is going through an enormous change and remain confident about the future of the sector.
