Blockchain-focused tech company Blockstream has launched in beta mode its Blockstream Satellite API, offering anyone "the chance to broadcast data via our satellite network," according to the official announcement.
The API allows developers to submit messages for broadcast.
As it states, the API supports data encryption and lightning payments. The Satellite API service provides only the low-friction transmission of data through the Blockstream Satellite network.
Initially, only developers will get access to the API. Non-developers should get their message queued by submitting their data to the Blockstream API page and paying the fee via Lightning testnet.
