2018 was a difficult year for crypto investors and enthusiasts. A wide crypto bear market and increased scrutiny around crypto exchanges and traders discouraged many.
Nevertheless, recent data suggests that major cryptocurrency exchanges experienced “record transacting volumes” in 2018 — as reported by the research company Diar.
Diar shared yesterday that comparing with 2017 figures both the number of trades and the trade volume have increased on major crypto exchanges last year.
Taking Coinbase as an example: the exchange registered a 14.1 percent increase in the number of trades — and its combined trade volume of the USD Markets increased by 21 percent in 2018.
And Kraken and Bitfinex experienced even greater year-to-year transacting volume increases: 192 percent and 50 percent, respectively.

Will 2019 experience an also healthy trade count?
