Cryptocurrency mining giant Bitmain has shut down its mining facility in Texas, according to Texas Public Radio.

Milam County Judge Steve Young says he’s "disappointed" because the county had advertised the facility.

"We had waited for this. We had wanted this. We had welcomed this. This was huge, we need some positive news here. We need some jobs here. We need tax base here and this was a step in the right direction," Young said.

Previously, another crypto mining giant GMO Internet which is listed on the 1st section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange announced the closure of its bitcoin mining facilities due to "extraordinary loss."

We remind that earlier, Bitmain decided to quietly layoff their "entire Copernicus team (#Bcash GO client)," according Blockstream CSO, Samson Mow.
