Just a little over a week after we shared that Cointext had expanded its services to 35 countries the company makes the headlines again. Now it has launched Internet-free mobile Bitcoin Cash wallet services in Bangladesh, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.

Cointext is a Bitcoin Cash wallet provider that enables its users to conduct BCH transfers through text messages to other mobile phones or BCH addresses. Users just need a mobile phone with the ability to send SMS — a basic feature phone since there is no need for Internet connection, accounts or apps.

The company is present in the developed world but has also been focusing in least developed nations, where the majority of the unbanked is. Its goal? To provide those with access to the crypto market. The newly added Bangladesh is a clear example. Vin Armani, Cointext founder and CTO, described it as “the ideal country” for his company.

“Very few people have smartphones or cellular data in Bangladesh. Cointext enables basic feature phones to access international currencies like Bitcoin using SMS.” — He stated.

Cointext currently services 38 nations located in Latin America, Europe, Oceana, Asia and North America.
