Coinbase, one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world, has launched a crypto-to-crypto trading service for its retail customers, available both through its exchange and the Android and iOS apps.
The users of the San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange and wallet service can now trade cryptocurrencies directly with other cryptocurrencies. The new service, “Convert”, has already been available for Coinbase Pro customers.
Starting today, you can convert one crypto to another on Coinbase. Conversions are available between Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Litecoin (LTC), 0x (ZRX), or Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

“The functionality is giving customers the ability to directly convert between one cryptocurrency and another, which is pretty advanced,” — said Anna Marie Clifton, Coinbase product manager.
The new service was announced yesterday, Monday, and users will be able to begin trading Bitcoin pairs through the new feature in the coming days. According to Clifton the pairs were developed based on users feedback.
At the beginning, Convert will support Bitcoin trading with Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Litecoin and 0x — however, more trading pairs may be added in the future.
The service will be “gradually” rolled out to customers in the 34 countries Coinbase offers native payment access.
“We’ll continue iterating on the product and expanding the functionality,” Clifton added. “An increasingly large number of customers will have this functionality available.”
