Game distributor and game console manufacturer Atari will remaster its RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch and Goon Squad games on blockchain technology, according to the official announcement. Responsible for the blockchain implementation will be startup Animoca Brands.

According to the terms of the agreement, announced by Atari, work will last until March 2022. The total amount of remastering is $ 250,000. It’s expected as soon as the gross cost of Animoca projects reaches half a million dollars, the studio will begin to deduct part of the income of Atari.

The head of Animoca Brands, Yat Siu, claims the deal marks a special moment for him since he began his career working with Atari and using Atari computers.

“The RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise is, like many of Atari’s properties, a true evergreen, having been around for two decades. Given the strategic and commercial elements of this incredibly fun simulation, it is a perfect candidate for blockchain adaptation,” Yat Siu highlighted.

Both companies agreed to continue cooperation in the areas of gaming, product development, and blockchain.

Earlier, the Californian game company X2 Games Corp., which was founded by the Atari founder, Nolan Bushnell, was acquired by Canadian-based cryptocurrency investing firm Global Blockchain Technologies Corp (BLOC).
