“Blockchain developer” is the most rapidly growing job in the US, according to LinkedIn’s 2018 US Emerging Jobs report disclosed yesterday.
The professional social network concluded that the role registered a 33 times growth through this year. It is being sought for the Information Technology & Services, Computer Software and Internet industries — and by companies like IBM, ConsenSys and Chainyard. The highest demand comes from cities like San Francisco, New York and Atlanta.
The blockchain-related position leads the list with a massive distance from the immediately following one: “Machine Learning Engineer”, which registered a 12 times growth within the same period.
According to LinkedIn:
“It [...] may not shock you that Blockchain Developer is topping the list following this year’s surge in interest around blockchain and cryptocurrency. [...] [However] Only time will tell if blockchain will be a long-standing trend in the job market.”
