Cryptocurrency payment platform Crypto.com has announced the appointment of former PayPal executive director Tyson Hackwood to the leadership team as senior vice president. Hackwood will be leading the expansion & adoption of Crypto.com all around the world.

Co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com Kris Marszalek says Tyson Hackwood will play a key role in Crypto.com’s expanding.

"As we develop the Crypto.com Chain to fulfill the current industry need to pay and be paid in crypto, Tyson will play an important role in expanding the number and quality of merchants that are part of our network," Marszalek said.

Tyson Hackwood has approximately 18 years of experience in product expansion and partnership-driven business. But what is more significant is that PayPal doesn’t eschew the implementation of the blockchain. Previously, for example, PayPal initiated a blockchain-based reward program for its employees with its own token.

Earlier this week, bitcoin-friendly Cash App reached a key milestone on the way to bitcoin’s usage adoption by becoming the most popular app in finance category on the U.S. Google Play Store, officially surpassing the giant PayPal. The PayPal's employees can earn their own tokens via the company's website and by participating in any other reward-relating programs.
