Blockchain-based startup Ripple (XRP) and NEM (XEM) have gathered together to found a blockchain association — "Blockchain for Europe", according to the official announcement.

The main idea of the association is to show the true nature and potential of blockchain technologies.

The association is designed to help the EU to develop regulations that would stimulate sector growth.

The Ripple’s Head of Regulatory Relations in Europe, Dan Morgan, said that Ripple was pleased to be a founding member of Blockchain for Europe.

NEM Co-founder Kristof Van de Reck also commented the launch of the association:

“There is a lack of unbiased information especially when it comes to the open and decentralized application of the technology. By joining forces with different stakeholders that have blockchain at the core of their business, we aim to provide insights which are not tailored to the agenda of specific organisations or stakeholders.”

Ripple is continuing its expanding all around the world. Previously, SBI Ripple Asia, partnered with the Japan Payment Card Consortium (JPCC) to develop joint Proof of Concept (PoC) to fight against fraud information.

Earlier, NEM Foundation launched a new blockchain hub in Melbourne, Australia, where NEM community would have a possibility to gather with mass media and members of the community in order to broad “the basics of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.”
