The G20 association that includes countries with major advanced and emerging economies have called for the taxation of cryptocurrency and crypto regulation on order to combat money laundering, according to the report of Japanese news media Jiji.com.

As it was also stated, the final text of a document that was jointly signed by G20 countries’ leaders calls for a taxation system for cross-border electronic payment services that include cryptocurrency as well.

Thus, the member states, which met on December 2 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, are currently working on the system and will consider the issue during 2019 when Japan will be the president of the summit.

It is expected that the final version of regulations, after considering proposals from each member state and other procedures will be completed by 2020.
