A former executive at Amazon with more than 20 years of experience, Jason Warnick, has become a new member of the Robinhood team, according to TechCrunch.
Robinhood is a U.S. commission-free cryptocurrency trading app. It allows anyone to invest in publicly traded companies and exchange-traded funds listed on U.S. stock exchanges.
It’s said that Warnick would help Robinhood prepare “for an eventual public debut.” Previously, the CEO of Robinhood, Baiju Bhatt, told that his company was seeking for a new CFO and in long-term perspective was going to hold public offering (IPO). It’s believed that Warnick will play a key role of CFO at Robinhood in order to help prepare for an upcoming IPO.
“We look forward to working with Jason to build out our operational and financial infrastructure and continuing to deliver the best possible financial products to our customers at the best possible prices,” said Robinhood Co-CEO, Vlad Tenev.
Earlier, Bloomberg has claimed that Robinhood made more than 40% of its revenue by selling its user order data to high-frequency trading firms.
