Students at Tokyo University will study Blockchain technology as part of a master's degree in engineering and technology. The university received this opportunity thanks to $800,000 donation from a consortium, whose members are the Ethereum Foundation and one of Japan’s largest banks, Sumitomo Mitsui. Training under the program called “Blockсhain Innovation Donation Course” began on November 1 and will end in October 2021.

The Blockchain course is aimed at students planning to become Blockchain entrepreneurs. The program of the course includes lectures and practical exercises that teach the development and application of decentralized solutions, the creation of services using information and communication technologies and the development of business models based on Blockchain technology. The university hopes to graduate specialists from the Blockchain industry by teaching them the principles of operation and the design of decentralized networks and how to use them in modern society.

According to experts, distributed registry technology can drastically change the industry, banking and financial systems, supply chain management and the entertainment industry.
