IBM and Columbia University have launched two Blockchain programs that aim to help startups in innovative projects, according to an IBM report on November 19.

Both programs are part of the Columbia-IBM Center for Blockchain and Transparency Data, an innovation center that was created jointly in the U.S. this summer.

It’s assumed that each program will support ten startups. Companies will be supported by business mentors, the scientific community, as well as technical support, project development assistance and IBM cloud technology resources.

IBM and Columbia University want to help network developers implement projects using Blockchain, which in turn will contribute to “meaningful enterprise Blockchain adoption and drive business efficiencies across industries.”

The first eight-week program, Columbia Blockchain Launch Accelerator, will be held in New York and created for startups whose projects are at the stage of implementing ideas.

The second eight-week program, the IBM Blockchain Accelerator, focuses on projects at later stages of development and is aimed at helping startups to create a business network and customer base. It will be launched in New York and San Francisco.
