According to The Edge Markets, Malaysian media giant Media Prima Bhd has been attacked by a ransomware virus. It’s report that hacker demands 1000 bitcoins (BTC) to access Media Prima Berhad's computer systems back again.

Media Prima considered to be the largest Malaysian TV/radio channels, newspapers, advertising and digital media provider.

The Edge Markets’ source states:

“The whole Media Prima group’s computer systems have been breached and infected with ransomware over the last four days. The attackers demanded 1,000 bitcoins from Media Prima in the ransomware attack.”

It’s also said that Media Prime refused to pay the ransom.

Earlier, other retail giant was hacked. Group of uniden­ti­fied hack­ers hi­jacked the of­fi­cial Twit­ter ac­count of Amer­i­can re­tail giant Tar­get in order to push ma­li­cious bit­coin give­away links to its al­most two mil­lion fol­low­ers.
