In a recent interview with IBENA, the head of Informatics Services Corporation, Seyyed Abotaleb Najafi, has said that the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has been developing its national crypto with the company in order to use it in expanding banking system services.

Najafi said that crypto is issued by the central bank and “can be used in a distributed and one-to-one framework for transferring without any institute's interference.”

However, the CEO of Informatics Services Corporation noted that national crypto is in a pilot stage right now and will be used in the Iran’s financial system only after getting Central Bank of Iran's approval.

Earlier, Information and Communications Technology Minister, Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi announced that a state-issued cryptocurrency was ready for a trial phase.
