CryptoKitties Developer Attracts Investments from Google & Samsung

According to the announcement, Dapper Labs, the company behind the popular in crypto industry dApp CryptoKitties has attracted $15 million in financing led by Venrock (formerly Google Ventures) and Samsung NEXT.

The funds would be used “to help Dapper Labs, a Canadian-founded company, expand locally and globally,” the announcement says.

The head of Dapper Labs, Roham Gharegozlou, commented that "the evolution of true digital ownership and the interoperability of smart contracts creates new ways for consumers, creators, and platform providers to interact completely peer-to-peer, with no middlemen."

Earlier in October, at the 2018 International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) Annual Japan Conference in Tokyo, CFTC Commissioner Rostin Behnam compared CryptoKitties to an “innovation” of blockchain technology.
