New Zealand innovation agency Callaghan Innovation provided $300,000 to Vimba, a local crypto wallet and trading service.

Vimba became the owner of a state grant. This is a local crypto wallet and trading platform, formerly known as MyCryptoSaver, later renamed Vimba. The company plans to expand its offerings, including listing more cryptocurrencies on their exchange and releasing a multi-currency crypto wallet.

Vimba CEO Sam Blackmore says that their customer base “remained very stable”, despite the volatile market for BTC this year. Blackmore believes that the BTC is “at least reach the market cap of gold” because this crypto is “more efficient, more accessible, and more secure.”

The grant awarded is called the “R&D Project Grant.” This type of grant is used to co-finance a research project. These grants can finance up to 40% of the project.
