According to the announcement, Microsoft Blockchain Azure partners with Nasdaq Financial Framework in order to “deliver highly secure interoperation and communication between the Nasdaq Financial Framework core infrastructure and customer technologies, using an innovative blockchain microservices...”

The announcement states:

“To accelerate Nasdaq’s blockchain capabilities aligned with the industry’s rising demand, the company is integrating the Nasdaq Financial Framework with Microsoft Azure Blockchain to build a ledger agnostic blockchain capability that supports a multi-ledger strategy.”

Senior Vice President of Enterprise Architecture at Nasdaq Tom Fay said that with multiple blockchains in use by various industry participants, blockchain may remove some of the project complexities that exist in this realm.

Earlier in August, Microsoft introduced a new “blockchain-as-a-service”product, which allows companies to use a flexible version of Ethereum, modified specifically for their business needs.
