Indian Supreme Court has requested the country's government to provide its opinion about cryptocurrencies and their regulation following April central bank actions in relation to cryptocurrency exchanges, according to the official website of the regulator.

As it was stated, the court held a hearing for a number of petitions by local cryptocurrency exchanges that suffered because of the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) order to ban domestic banks from providing services to cryptocurrency companies.

The Supreme Court of India set a two-week period for the government, to state its vision on the matter and express its opinion about the future of cryptocurrencies and cryptocurrency exchanges.
