According to a recent announcement, tether (USDT) will destroy nearly 500 million USDT assets.
The announcement states:
“Tether will destroy 500m USDT from the Tether treasury wallet and will leave the remaining USDT (approx 466m) in the wallet as a preparatory measures for future USDT issuances.”
Earlier this year, the notorious stablecoin had withdrawn almost 25% of USDT from circulation. In addition tether has become a subject of heated debate.
For example, earlier, former hedge fund manager of the Fortress Investment Group, Michael Novogratz, questioned tether’s transparency.
