According to Taipei Times, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) of Taiwan will issue national standards for ICO by June 2019.

The head of FSC, Wellington Koo, said that despite of the fact that FSC would regulate ICO, tokens exchanged for goods wouldn’t be covered by the regulations.

Koo said:

“The more we regulate, the more this new economic behavior wanes.”

The FSC chairman also confirmed that the commission didn't want to breach the crypto creativity “if they aren't used as securities.”

Earlier, the government of Taiwan acknowledged the potential the blockchain technology and confirmed it had on increasing the growth potential of the country.
