A 23-year-old Australian from Sydney was arrested on charges of stealing cryptocurrency worth 100K XRP (more than $300,000).
In January, an unknown woman stole 100,000 XRP (XRP/USD) from a wallet owned by a 56-year-old man. After a 10-month investigation, she was arrested by the police during a raid at her home.
After hacking into his email account, the man couldn’t access his crypto wallet for two days. When he managed to regain access, he discovered that the XRP had been stolen.
News Corp Australia reports that the woman transferred XRP into the China-based exchange, which was later converted to bitcoin. News Corp indicates that a conditional pledge was given to the woman and she should appear in a local court on November 19.
